Our “Inspiration Feeder” presents to you short interviews with interesting visual artists from around the globe. Today in focus: Martin Heigan
How old are you?
Where do you come from
Where do you come from?
Johannesburg, South Africa.
How long have you been doing photography?
Ever since I had Photography as a subject when studying Graphic Design (quite long ago). I always had an interest in photography though.
How would you define your style?
I like to photograph things that we don’t often see or notice, or miss completely because we don’t stop and look, or simply because we can’t observe the detail with human vision. I enjoy everything from macro photography of the very small, to Astrophotography of the Universe at the opposite end of the scale.
How long do you think it took you to find your personal style of shooting?
I like experimenting with processing and imaging techniques, but I guess it took about 4-5 years to develop a signature style.
What would you say is the thing that most inspires you? / What is your main source of inspiration?
I’ve always found my inspiration in Nature, from rare desert plants to clear dark skies far away from people and the cities.
