Our “Inspiration Feeder” presents to you short interviews with interesting visual artists from around the globe. Today in focus: Thomas Holm.
How old are you?
Where do you come from?
Born and lives in Denmark.
How long have you been doing photography?
I started my education as a commercial photographer in 1984 and graduated in 1988. Then I did professional photography until around 2004-5 and gave it up after feeling fatigue from commercial jobs. Around 2013 I started shooting nudes.
How would you define your style?
I’d rather have other people do that but I like minimalism and emotion in my images and I do my best to show female sensuality in an elegant and subtle way.
How long do you think it took you to find your personal style of shooting?
Probably 4-5 years but it’s a process described in my book Venus on Mars (available from my website).
What would you say is the thing that most inspires you? What is your main source of inspiration?
Definitely women. I just love women and I am fascinated with the strength and vulnerability they possess. Btw: for people who are interested in starting photographing nudes I’ve made a free guide on how to find and work with models. Available on tiny.cc/findmodels.
