Our “Inspiration Feeder” presents to you short interviews with interesting visual artists from around the globe. Today in focus: Patrick Curtet.
How old are you?
Still 25 in my brain and keep getting stronger in my art.
Where do you come from?
From a village in middle of france. Nobody in my family was in the Art’s. So If you work hard and keep exploring nothing is impossible.
How long have you been doing photography?
Since I was 14 I shoot or film every day. Not especially with a camera but with my eyes.
How would you define your style?
I want to bring the viewer in the scene. I love to create like as hunter is searching for is target. It’s there close to you, hidden just next to you. Work work think look listen wait…….and work again. The pleasure is in the work.
How long do you think it took you to find your personal style of shooting?
That’s an interesting question, we always thinking we get something in our images, but along the way when you look back you always see things are changing. After 5 years you have an idea of what your style can be. After 10 years you handling few things. After that your building and discontruct things to build again. In art there’s no finish line, there’s just a journey.
What would you say is the thing that most inspires you? / What is your main source of inspiration?
Everything, life is a source of inspiration every day. The light, the. People , the music, the smells, the sounds. I’ve seen people on the other side of the world doing the same things they were doing at home and also meet people never travel with their body keep exploring the world in books. I always remember a Robert Doisneau phrase. As a photographer when you buy a camera buy also an alarm clock and a good pair shoes. Keep searching keep exploring, our art is a state of mind
