Our “Inspiration Feeder” presents to you short interviews with interesting visual artists from around the globe. Today in focus: Marina de Wit.
How old are you?
I am 43, self taught via You tube.
Where do you come from?
South Africa. We immigrated to NZ, Auckland in 2005.
How long have you been doing photography?
Since 2015.
How would you define your style?
Dark, romantic and moody. I am inspired to really showcase the essence or inner spirit of all my floral subjects.
How long do you think it took you to find your personal style of shooting?
Approximately 2 years, I had one lens (Nikon 105mm macro) and I had to make the most of it, I believe this allowed me to find my specific style much sooner.
What would you say is the thing that most inspires you? / What is your main source of inspiration?
Everyday beauty, inspiring others to follow their dreams and to never give up, to find their voice and to trust their artistic interpretation, its so easy to try and copy other artists, but a lot harder to showcase your individual self. Love what you do.
